New Year, New Business: Reviewing How You Serve Your Target Audience

Are your services aligned with your ideal customers?

The success of your team, department, or business is directly correlated with how well you serve your target audience. Whether internal or external, your work serves someone. It’s up to you to decide the best way to do that and which services will matter most to your customer.

What’s a service that matters?

A service that matters is simply one that is valuable and helps your audience accomplish the goal they set out to do. There is no one size fits all and what you provide is completely customizable.

Want to know if your services are aligning with your target audience? Here are some tips to get the inside scoop:

Ask them

If you think you are serving your people, ask them about it. Feedback can suck when it is not conducive or constructive. Still, it can be the lifeblood of your success. Feedback, good or bad, helps you calibrate. Maybe you've found the right audience but, you haven't given them the value they need. On the flip side, you could love what you do and find that you're not sharing your expertise with the right audience. Ask your audience for insights on what you're doing and how it's helping them.

Review your conversion metrics

What are you tracking to determine success? Check out your bounce rate, where people are dropping off in the customer journey, email opens, etc. Do the numbers support your goal? What’s the story they are telling vs. the story you want them to tell?

List your major accomplishments
